After a lengthy layoff from the fall, the John Carroll men's tennis team jumped right into the fray this weekend, first taking on regionally ranked DePauw on Saturday and host College of Wooster Sunday.
There was not much joy for the Blue Streaks as they fell to DePauw (#10 in Central region), 7-2, before dropping an 8-1 decision to Wooster.
Against the Tigers, JCU collected a point in both doubles and singles.Â
Andy Siciliano and
Mark Beebe took their #2 doubles match to a tiebreaker, where they prevailed over Noah Robert and Thomas Partridge, 8-7 (7-3).
The singles point was garnered by
Andrew Triner, who outlasted his opponent at six singles, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).
Siciliano at #2 and Beebe at #4 both lost in third set tiebreaks.
The lone point snared by JCU against the Fighting Scots Sunday was again by Beebe and Siciliano, who won at #2 doubles, 8-4.
JCU lost three matches that went three sets in singles.
The Blue Streaks are now 0-3 on the season and won't play again until they are down in Florida the first week of March.
