For the sixth time in her career,
Jaclyn Audino scored twice in the same game.
Tonight, it was a timely two goals, as the Blue Streaks finally broke through away from home to beat the host Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops, 2-1, at the Jay Martin Soccer Complex in Delaware, Ohio.
Audino scored her first goal in the 36th minute and again on a penalty kick in the 50th minute to stake the Blue and Gold a 2-0 lead.
Ohio Wesleyan answered back in the 56th minute with a goal of its own to cut the deficit in half, but John Carroll held on for its first road win of 2019.
The Battling Bishops had two cracks at it in the final ten minutes. One shot was saved by JCU rookie keeper
Mackenzie Stease in the 83rd minute, the other was a header that went wide with 15 seconds left to play.
Stease finished the night with four saves.
John Carroll, which improved to 4-2-2 on the season, has now beaten Ohio Wesleyan three times in a row after losing the first six meetings of the series. The Battling Bishops dropped to 4-5.
