Welcoming the Ashland University Eagles into their home for the first time, the John Carroll Blue Streaks were not necessarily hospitable.

John Carroll dominated Ashland with an impressive 160- 76 win, their second largest winning margin of the season.

Results

John Carroll had lost in the first meeting between the two schools last year, 144.5-117.5, but flipped the script right from the opening race Friday night at the William H. Johnson Natatorium.

The "A" team placed first in the 400 Yard Medley Relay to kick off the night. Forrest Campbell, Jackson Cooper, Mason Beck, and Matt Ramsey combined efforts towards a winning time of 3:54.72.

Franci Aleksi lived up to billing as one of Ashland's premier swimmers by winning the 1000 Free in 9:40.45, but Erik Sriubas and Ben Rancilio touched one after the other, claiming second and third with times of 9:45.35 and 10:26.10, respectively.

Freshman Westin Fishel touched first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:48.41. Teammate Forrest Campbell came in behind Fishel, finishing third.

Matt Ramsey (21.47) and Adam Lenz (21.87) packed a 1-2 punch in the 50 Yard Freestyle.

The Freshman duo of Sriubas and Rancilio claimed first and second in the 200 Yard Fly. Sriubas finished in 1:57.13 and Rancilio came in seconds behind at 1:59.99.

Sriubas, with a time of 4:46.72, also touched second in the 500 Yard Freestyle.

Ryan McClelland, Evan McGory and Jack Lausin were unopposed in diving, and poured in 32 points to the cause. McClelland won on both boards, with all three divers topping 195 points in the 3-meter competition.

Lenz placed second with a time of 48.85 in the 100 Yard Freestyle while Westin Fishel claimed third. Lenz also placed first in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:15.79. Beck followed in suite to claim second.

Jack Garrow was the catalyst behind a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200 Yard Backstroke. Garrow, with a time of 2:02.84, touched first while Jackson Cooper and Adam Bozsvai finished in 2:09.46 and 2:12.71, respectively.

The "A" team of Cooper, Fishel, Chris Soules, and Ramsey wrapped up the meet with a first place finish in the last event of the night, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. They posted a winning time of 3:17.45. Their time was followed by the "B" team of Singler, Garrow, Rancilio, and Tom Pacak with a time of 3:18.44.

In less than 24 hours, the Blue Streaks, now with a record of 5-2, will be back in the pool, where they will take on the Quakers of Wilmington College at the Johnson Natatorium.
