Goals Remain Elusive for Blue Streaks on the Road

Despite outshooting the Lions 11-8, the John Carroll men's soccer team fell short against Penn State Behrend by a final score of 2-0 on Friday night. The Blue Streaks now hold a 1-2 record, while the Lions improve to 2-0-1.

After a quiet opening half, the Blue Streaks managed to fire nine of their 11 shots in the second. Despite this sign of momentum, however, one goal scored in each half by the Lions secured the win for Penn State Behrend.

Mikey Burrington, Evan Malpass, and Brian Lutz paced the Blue Streaks, with each recording two shots apiece. Jared Ianiro and Adriano Margiotta also took shots on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Tommy Gallina took the loss, falling to 0-1 on the season.

John Carroll will head back to University Heights to host the Mavericks of Medaille College on Sunday, September 9. Game time is set
for 2 p.m.
