Rebounding in a dominant fashion has now happened on more than one occasion this season for the JCU women's lacrosse team.

The Blue Streaks (12-2, 5-1 OAC) bounced back from a loss on Wednesday evening, to top the visiting Ohio Northern Polar Bears in the regular season home finale on Saturday, 26-2.

Senior Gina Vilsack's nine-goal performance tied the record for most goals in a game for a Blue Streak, as fellow senior Grace Curatolo's eight assists also tied a program-best in a single match.

The 26-goal showing was the third most goals scored in a game this season by the Blue Streaks.

JCU's first goal came at the 28:31 mark of the opening half, as junior Brooke McQuinn for the back of the net.

Senior Meghan Harte chipped in three first half goals, as Curatolo tagged on four first-half assists, taking the halftime score to 16-1.

The 15 goal advantage contributed to a second-half, as the Blue Streaks struck gold on nine consecutive occurrences. JCU jumped out to a 23-1 advantage, before ONU's Chelsea Cousins got the Polar Bears' second goal of the match.

Cousins' goal with 10:59 remaining stopped a 14-goal run in favor of the Blue & Gold.

Vilsack chipped in four more goals in the second half, as junior Alexis Guage ended the scoring spree with 17 seconds remaining, ending the match with a 26-2 final.

Harte's six goals of the day is the fourth time this season that the senior has scored at least five goals in a match.

In net, the duo of sophomore Elyssa Zablo and and freshman Kaleigh Kotula put in 60 minutes of a collective defensive effort.

The Blue and Gold continue OAC play on Wednesday, traveling to Tiffin, Ohio to play the Student Princes of Heidelberg at 7 p.m.
