The John Carroll University Blue Streak men's lacrosse team rebounded after a heartbreaking 12-11 loss in double overtime to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, which snapped the previously undefeated record in the OAC.

With a complete game performance in New Concord, Ohio, the Blue Streaks right the ship, and move forward with another proving victory.

JCU advanced to 8-4 overall this season (4-1 OAC) with a 22-4 road against Muskingum. The Blue and Gold also enhanced their away record to 5-3 in the 2018 season.

Sophomore Skyler Blake led the way with a team-high of six points, as senior Logan Calhoun followed closely with five.

Freshman Brendan Whitty and senior Colin Corcoran shared the team-best with three goals apiece, driving the Blue Streaks' offensive power.

The Blue Streaks sparked a flaming start in the first quarter, breaking out to an 8-0 run to establish a solid lead heading into the second quarter. Senior MacGregor Roberts started the run mid-way through the opening quarter, and Brendan Whitty contributed two goals.

Blake added three assists and a goal, providing action on half of JCU's eight first quarter scores.

Muskingum shut down the 8-0 run 2:48 into the second quarter, with an unassisted goal by Ryan Stacey.

JCU did not allow Stacey's goal to slow down their streak of goals, as the Blue and Gold scored the final five goals of the half, ending the second quarter on a 5-0 run.

Freshman Logan Collins' three points, senior Ryan Crater's two points, along with senior Collin Rice's two points, all had a share of the 5-0 run before the break.

JCU lead the Muskies 13-1 at the end of the half, as Collins scored with 14 seconds remaining.

The Blue Streaks added onto their 5-0 run with a 4-0 run to open the third quarter, to contribute to their largest run of the day at 9-0.

Muskingum put together a run of their own with a 2-0 spurt to cut into the Blue Streaks' lead.

JCU fired back with a four goal response to total their largest lead of the day, 21-3.

Junior Patrick O' Grady placed the cherry on top, scoring the Blue Streaks' 22nd goal of the afternoon with 2:32 remaining, guiding JCU to a 22-4 win over the Muskies.

With JCU's 22 goal performance, the Blue and Gold out shot the Muskies 65-17.

JCU dominated in ground balls, gathering 55 as opposed to MU's 30. The Blue Streaks also successfully cleared all 13 of their clear attempts. It was all JCU on the faceoff circle as well, as the Blue Streaks won 21 of 30 faceoffs.

The Blue Streaks goaltenders junior Jacob Betz (34:27) and senior Will Good (25:33) nearly split time in net today, posting four saves as a unit. Betz only allowed one goal in his 34 minutes of goalkeeping.

The Blue Streaks will remain on the road next Saturday, taking on the Ohio Northern Polar Bears at 1:00 p.m. in Ada, Ohio.
