The John Carroll men's soccer team defeated the Capital Crusaders, 2-0, in conference matchup on Saturday night in Bexley, Ohio.

With the win, John Carroll now stands at 13-2-1 overall and 5-2-0 in the OAC (2nd) on the season, while Capital falls to 9-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the OAC (T-6th).
This was John Carroll's final regular season road match. JCU plays its final two matches at home, where it is 8-0-0 this year.
The win was not only John Carroll's ninth shutout of the year, but kept the Blue Streaks ahead of a hungry pack of pursuers. Otterbein (7-0) remains in first place while John Carroll remained ahead of Mount Union and Marietta, both 4-2-1, by two points. The top two finishers in the regular season standings earn byes in the quarterfinal round of the OAC playoffs.

Hayden Parente was the lone scorer of the game, netting both of the John Carroll goals.

Parente's first goal came in 14th minute when he found the back of the net to give John Carroll a 1-0 lead. The sophomore then tallied his second goal of the night off a throw in from
William Grubbs in the 53rd minute.

Over the course of the game, John Carroll outshot Capital 12-11.
