Box Score John Carroll women's tennis captured the ninth Ohio Athletic Conference championship in program history with a win over Otterbein on Saturday at the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
The Blue Streaks were a perfect 3-0 in doubles matches and 2-0 in singles bouts in the 5-0 defeat of the Cardinals.

With the win, John Carroll (16-3, 8-0 OAC) finishes the year undefeated in conference play. The Blue Streaks were 11-0 in total against OAC opponents, including 3-0 in the postseason by a combined score of 16-0.
This is the frst time that JCU has earned the automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament in school history.
JCU got things started with an victory in #1 doubles.
Lauren O'Malley and
Madisyn Rini topped Rylie Markie and Adrien Leatherwood, 8-3.
Catherine Engel and
Jennifer Stroyne had a handful of a matchup in #2 doubles, but topped the Otterbein pair, 8-5. It was an 8-3 finish in #3 doubles as well.
Nicolette Bourlas and
Natalie Bourlas finished the doubles sweep with a win over Sophie Allen and Emily Quill.
O'Malley kicked off singles with a victory over Sammi Kruger, 6-1, 6-0. In #3 singles,
Nicolette Bourlas slammed the door on the Cardinals and the championship with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Up next for JCU is a berth in the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships.
