Runs late in the game sunk John Carroll baseball on Wednesday afternoon, as the Case Western Reserve Spartans took a 6-1 decision at Progressive Field. 
Rob Cifelli went 3-for-4 with the lone Blue Streaks RBI. 
Tyler Gentile, Dom Mittiga and 
Patrick Scholla each recorded a hit. 
Cifelli started off the scoring in the top of the fifth inning with a triple down the right field line that scored Mittiga. 
Daniel Watson brought home the tying run in the sixth and became the go-ahead run on the play. He singled to left field and scored on a throwing error. 
In the next inning, Watson struck again with an infield single that scored a run. A wild pitch made the game 4-1. 
In the eighth, Case drove in a pair to bring the final tally to 6-1. 
Drew Vargo was excellent through three innings on the mound, allowing just three hits and striking out three. Wenson threw two innings, walking two with no hits. 
Steven Virost (0-2), allowed two earned runs in his 1 2/3 innngs. 
Mark Pisanello and 
Mark Materise finished the final 1 1/3 innings.
