John Carroll Offense Erupts For First Conference Victory

The draws are no more.

After playing four games in a row that resulted in a draw, John Carroll's offense broke out in Tiffin, Ohio. The Blue Streaks went on the road to take on Heidelberg University, and they would come out winning the contest 5-0 to give them their first OAC win of the season.

John Carroll moves to 4-3-5 overall with a 1-0-1 spot in conference play.

The scoring started early in the first half after sophomore Bailey Fischer got the Blue Streaks on the board in the eighth minute. Fischer slotted home the opening tally as a final piece of a breakaway.

Fischer's goal would be the lone tally in the first half. John Carroll would carry the 1-0 lead into the locker room at half.

The offensive pressure from the first half carried into the second half action.

It would be Fischer again helping the scoring efforts for the Blue Streaks. The sophomore dribbled through defenders and powered a shot home, adding her second tally of the game and giving the visiting Blue Streaks a 2-0 lead in the 50th minute.

The next three goals from the Blue Streaks would come in rapid succession. Jaclyn Audino would join the scoring effort, netting her first of two goals on the night in the 76th minute. Fischer was credited with the assist that gave John Carroll a 3-0 lead.

Fischer would get back on the score sheet to complete her hat-trick in the 80th minute. Audino would tally her second goal in the 82nd minute to cement the shutout victory. Rhianna Guarnera recorded three saves for the clean sheet.

Fischer was the busiest for the Blue Streaks as she was involved in every scoring play for John Carroll.

The Blue Streaks improve to 5-3-5 on the year, and this is the first shutout win this season.
