Two halves of soccer were not enough to settle Saturday's game between the John Carroll women's soccer team and Roanoke College. Two overtime periods were not enough either.
John Carroll battled, but could not net the winning goal in overtime as the Blue Streaks (0-1-1) tied the Maroons, 1-1, in Salem, Va.
It was the first of two games that JCU will play in the Roanoke Invitational this weekend.
Roanoke (1-0-1) got the scoring going in the 13th minute, as SierraLynn Johnson deposited a cross from Linnea Kremer into the back of the net.
Blue Streaks goalkeeper Rhianna Guarnera stopped five Maroons shots in the game.
The Blue Streaks only had one shot on goal in regulation; it was a shot off the foot of senior Taylor Tercek that beat senior Sarah Dvorak in the 81st minute. The goal was Tercek's second career score.
JCU takes the field again on Sunday, when they face Lynchburg at 2:30 p.m. Live stats are available through the Roanoke College website.
