The John Carroll University men's tennis team wasted no time reaching the five-point mark against visiting Marietta College on Tuesday afternoon on the campus of Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

John Carroll dropped a total of one game in the five counting matches.

Scott Adsit and
Dillon O'Brien cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. They would be joined by Alex Guthire and
Tyler Cole who had a clean slate at No. 3.
Jad Abdul-Aal and
Kyle Mollison won their doubles match 8-1.

Abdul-Aal picked up the first singles win taking a 6-0, retired decision at No. 1.

It was a race to the finish between Mollison and Guthrie to get the Blue Streaks to five points. Guthrie would clinch the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3. Mollison was ahead 6-0, 5-0 when the match was stopped.

The Blue Streaks advance to the OAC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2012. John Carroll will host the winner of the Mount Union-Baldwin Wallace match on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. The OAC tennis semifinals and finals for both genders are slated to be held at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.

With the win John Carroll has now won six matches in a row. The last time the Blue Streaks won at least six matches in a row was 2011 when John Carroll rattled off nine wins in a row en route to making an appearance in the OAC Tournament final.
