As a two-year-old program, John Carroll men's lacrosse does not have many seniors to honor on senior night.
This year, just one.
That being said, the rest of the team still wants to send that one senior out on a high note. Which is exactly what happened Saturday night, as John Carroll sent lone senior Kevin  Werner out a winner at Don Shula Stadium with an emphatic 11-2 win over visting Muskingum.
JCU led 6-0 at halftime and cruised to victory from there.
Still, it was a sluggish start for the Blue Streaks.
Declan O'Grady tallied his 40th goal of the season early on, but
Collin Rice netted the only other goal of the period  as JCU led 2-0 after 15 minutes.
It took a play by a defenseman to get the offense rolling.
Jack MacLean intercepted a pass near midfield and raced to the other end where he parked his first goal of the year at the 8:24 mark of the second period.
That seemed to take the lid off, as Rice (two goals) and O'Grady (one goal) put three more tallies up on the board over the final eight minutes to boost John Carroll's lead to six goals at the break.
Tommy Adolf became the second Blue Streak defender to score when he had a similar run to MacLean's that ended up in a goal.
Muskingum finally got on the board with a man-up goal with 55 ticks left in the third.
The Blue Streaks scored four times in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Kyle Lake,
Andrew Cleary and
Carl Roman combined to make five saves and hold Muskingum to two goals.
John Carroll is 9-6 overall and 3-3 in OAC play as the regular season comes to an end.
The Blue Streaks will be the #4 seed in next week's Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament and will play #1 seed Capital in Columbus on Wednesday, April 30, at 5:00 pm
