The John Carroll University softball team dropped a 4-2 crosstown non-conference game to Division II Ursuline on Tuesday afternoon in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

John Carroll jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after one.
Hannah Mizener reached on a fielder's choice and would move herself into scoring position by swiping second base. She would score on a two-out single off the bat of
Carly Simecek.

Ursuline tied the game in the home half of the second. Brigitte Snow led off the inning with a single and would eventually steal home knotting the game at one.

The Arrows would score their other three runs in the fifth. Carly Hoffner delivered a two-out, two-run double. Kaitlin Krajcik added an insurance run with a two-out single.

John Carroll threatened in the top of the sixth but could only come away with one run.
Taylor Tercek led off the frame with a bunt single. She would later advance to third on a wild pitch before scoring on a two-out infield single from
Christie Wade.

Gina Rosshirt picked up the win for Ursuline firing a four-hit complete game while striking out nine.
Ann Marie Kirchner took the loss falling to 9-7 on the year. She allowed three unearned runs in three innings of work.

Tercek led the way at the plate finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored.

The two teams, while only miles apart, have only met six times in history prior to today's meeting. John Carroll had won all six contests in the series prior to today.

Ursuline improved to 8-22 while John Carroll fell to 20-15.

John Carroll closes out the regular-season at Marietta on Saturday, April 25. First pitch of the twin bill is set for 1 p.m.
