John Carroll University may be on fall break, but the Blue Streaks volleyball team did not take a night off on Friday.

The Blue Streaks rolled to a three set victory over Buffalo State (25-12, 25-13, 25-15) at the DeCarlo Varsity Center on Friday night.

Sarah Orlandi led the way with 16 kills on the night. She crept ever closer to 1,000 career kills as she stands at 999 going into Saturday's match with Marietta.
Â
Sara Kaminski added 23 digs for the 11-11 Blue Streaks. Kit O'Shaughnessy notched 38 assists.
Â
In set one, the Blue Streaks rolled to a 25-12 victory. Orlandi recorded eight kills, while Kaminski racked up 10 digs. The Blue and Gold played a near perfect set with no attack errors.
Â
The Bengals started strong in the second set, tying the score at 4 and closing the Blue Streaks lead to 10-7. John Carroll then took off on a 13-6 run to close the set. Maddie McDowell notched five kills in the set and O'Shaughnessy added 12 assists.
Â
The Blue Streaks did not record an attack error until the third set. Buffalo State called a timeout when trailing 15-10 in the third set, but could not rebound. JCU finished off the Bengals by a final score of 25-15.
Â
After the game, head coach Laura Rodeffer was proud of her team's effort. "Part of our Achilles heel all season has been unforced errors," Rodeffer said. "We showed what we can do when we take care of the ball."
Â
"Hopefully this is a confidence builder. We were shaken after Tuesday's loss, and every single practice leading up to this, we've been working hard."
