The John Carroll Blue Streaks (6-11, 3-8 OAC) dropped their third consecutive contest, losing to No. 10 Mount Union, 82-54, Wednesday night in Alliance.
All around, the Blue Streaks could not keep up with the offensive and defensive prowess of the Purple Raiders. Mount Union's nationally ranked offense went 32-of-58 from the floor (55 percent) and held John Carroll to 39 percent shooting from the floor.
The Blue Streaks, however, kept up with the Purple Raiders throughout the first 14:35 of the ballgame. They trailed only by seven following a
Missy Spahar layup with 5:25 to play in the first half. Ensuing Mount Union possessions would change the fortunes of the game, as the Purple Raiders went on a 9-0 run to find themselves up 36-20 with 3:05 to go before intermission.
Leading 43-28 at the break, the scorching Mount Union offense would reel off a 27-7 run in the first eight minutes of the second half and would not look back.
The Purple Raiders (17-1, 10-1 OAC) forced 24 turnovers, the second most giveaways the Blue Streaks have surrendered this season. With the victory, Mount Union extend its winning streak to 12, and upped its winning streak to four against the Blue Streaks.

Sophomore forward
Missy Spahar paced the Blue Streaks with a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds, accounting for her 14th double-digit scoring performance this season.
The Purple Raiders were led by junior guard Rosa LaMattina and senior guard Kori Wiedt, who contributed 18 and 14 points, respectively, in the winning effort.
