Allison Lustig tied a 20-year-old assist record when she dished 13 against Ohio Wesleyan
Box Score On the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving, entrees of double-doubles were plentiful as the Blue Streaks defeated Ohio Wesleyan University, 77-71, in a non-conference affair at the DeCarlo Varsity Center.

The Blue Streaks, despite allowing a 7-0 run to begin the first half were able to tie the game at 29 a piece with 4:46 remaining, and did not look back from there.

Missy Spahar were enough to avenge that slow start and put the Blue Streaks up by four, 40-36, at the halftime intermission.
In the second half, senior shooting guard
Emilee Ritchie really began to find her three-point stroke from a year ago in hitting three key three-pointers in the half. She finished with a season high 22 points.
The Battling Bishopswould however battle their way back into the ball game with around 7:34 to go in the ballgame when they rattled off a minor six to two run which pulled them to within four points of the Blue Streaks with 7:00 to go.
The Blue Streaks would however shut the door on that run with a big pass from Lustig to freshman Beth Switzler for the lay-up plus the free throw after the foul, to make the score 66-58 John Carroll with 4:58 to play.
From that point on, five free-throws, and two field-goals from the field were enough to propel the Blue Streaks to the 77-71 victory.
“We didn't come out of the blocks very well,” said Blue Streaks head coach Kristie Maravalli. “I give a lot of credit to Ohio Wesleyan they were hitting [their] shots.”
The Blue Streaks (3-1) had many individual superlatives. Sophomore forward
Missy Spahar turned in 25 points and 12 rebounds, while freshman forward Beth Switzler recorded the first double-double of her career with ten points and rebounds.
Lustig made Blue Streaks history tonight by tying the school record for assists (13), matching the total posted by Michelle Bielozer against Baldwin-Wallace on December 10, 1991.
“I think I'm very blessed to have my speed,” said Lustig when asked about what makes her so efficient in passing the basketball. “But assists are passes that lead to scores, so It's not all about me ... it's about my teammates as well.”
Ohio Wesleyan (2-2) was paced by 23 points from Mary Corbett, who drained four three-pointers. LaNiece McRae added 15 points and ten boards for the lone Battling Bishop double-double
