Senior Joey Grace made his first career goal a game winner for the Blue Streaks at Marietta
Box Score Road wins, even against teams with a winning percentage under .200, never seem to come easy. But a little Grace at the right moment can go a long way toward helping a road team escape with a hard-earned victory.
At Marietta Tuesday, it was Joey Grace at the right moment.
His goal with 12 ticks left on the clock in the second of two overtime periods was the winning point in a 1-0 victory over the host Pioneers in an Ohio Athletic Conference match-up.

JCU had peppered Marietta keeper Chris Stollar with 29 shots over the first 119 minutes of play but seemed destined to remain deadlocked in a scoreless tie. But a direct kick by Jake Milli in the closing seconds changed that probable outcome.
Grace was able to pick the Milli kick out of the air and kncoked the 30th shot attempt of the afternoon for the Blue Streaks into the net. It was his first career goal in 52 matches as a Blue Streak.
JCU had a 30-9 shot advantage and a 12-1 corner kick edge but needed Grace's magical shot to win for the fifth time in its last six matches. The Blue Streaks, who got their second consecutive shutout thanks to five saves from
Carl Contrascier, are now 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the OAC
Marietta slipped to 1-9 and 0-2 in league play.
