Three Tough Doubles Losses Deflate Blue Streaks In OAC Women's Tennis Tourney Semifinal

Anna Navatsyk's career ended at John Carroll with a semifinal round loss to Baldwin-Wallace
The goal teams attempt to reach in an Ohio Athletic Conference tournament dual is five points. Each match victory is worth a single point, and with just nine total matches, each point becomes quite valuable.

In a 2010 OAC Tournament semifinal round match played between fourth-seeded John Carroll and top-seeded Baldwin-Wallace, it was a cruel reminder to the Blue Streaks how crucial even points within a match can be.

JCU fell by a 5-0 score in a match that was much closer than the score would indicate.

Box Score

Doubles proved the key, and the Yellow Jackets won all three by slim margins. The #1 and #3 matches were decided by tiebreakers, while #2 went to 9-7.

The closest was played at #3, where Emily Gorndt and Deanne Bouchanine lost by an 8-6 count in the tiebreak.

JCU ends its season at 9-6 while B-W moves on with a 17-7 ledger.

Baldwin-Wallace closed ou the match with two easy singles wins at #4 and #6.
