Melissa Fillmore's win in the penultimate event, the 100 Breast, helped seal JCU's win over Mount Union Saturday
The John Carroll women's swimming & diving team was tested in a pair of weekend dual meets, and passed both exams in defeating crosstown rival Notre Dame College Friday and Ohio Athletic Conference rival Mount Union Saturday at Johnson Natatorium.

John Carroll posted a 127-112 win against the Purple Raiders, getting off to a great start thanks to a victory by the 200 Medley Relay and a sweep of the top three spots in the 1000 Free.
In the relay, the quartet of
Julia Adams,
Melissa Fillmore,
Katie Mathews and
Liana Sved won in a time of 1:56.37, more than two full second ahead of the field.
In the next event, Mathews (11;41.04), Meagan Carrig (11;41.20) and Adams (11:51.63) swept the top three spots of the 1000 Free.
Rachael Mizner provided the largest drama, edging Mount's Sarah Noble by a mere .01 of a second in the 200 Free. Mizner touched the wall in 2:01.70 to Noble's 2:01.71.
Other individual wins belonged to Adams in the 100 Back (1:02.08),
Heidi Benson in the 500 Free (5:33.91), and Fillmore in the 100 Breast (1:12.77). JCU also closed the meet with a win in the 200 Free Relay, as Meggie Donoghue, Sved,
Emma Atkinson and Mizner won in a time of 1:43.58.
The night before at Notre Dame, John Caroll rolled to a 116-89 triumph. Benson (1000 Free and 500 Free) and Mizner (200 Free and 100 Free) were multiple winners for the Blue Streaks.
