Hiram Adds To Road Woes For John Carroll Men's Soccer With Double OT Defeat

John Carroll scored first, but it would be host Hiram College that had the final say with a goal in the final two minutes of the second overtime to emerge with a 2-1 victory Wednesday at Hiram, Ohio.

Louis Kastelic scored off a Joe Ciacchi assist in the tenth minute of play, and that one goal held up for a majority of the match.

The Terriers would finally produce the equalizer  when forward Petar Knezevic finished a play started by David Krems. The game remained deadlocked at 1-1 for the remainder of the period , and the match would be settled in overtime.

In the first overtime period, JCU outshot Hiram 2-1, but neither team could find the back of the net resulting in a second overtime period.

With just over a minute left in the final overtime period, Nick Gdanetz would fire in the game winner at the 108:45 minute mark, with another assist by Krems, giving HIram the 2-1 victory.

It was Hiram's fourth consecutive victory in moving to 6-2, while John Carroll slipped to 4-3.  The Blue Streaks are 4-0 at home but 0-3 on the road this season.
