Ryan Lewis capped a come-from behind victory in game one with an extra inning walk-off home run, while Matt Fort threw a complete game shutout in the nightcap to power John Carroll to a doubleheader sweep of Capital University Saturday at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio.

In the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both schools, JCU rallied from a 5-1 deficit in game one to defeat the Crusaders, 7-6, in nine innings. in the second game, the Blue Streaks won by a more comfortable 5-0 margin.
Capital would score three unearned runs as part of a five-run fourth inning that wiped out an early 1-0 John Carroll lead. The Blue Streaks would then chip away at the 5-1 advantage by scloring two runs in the fifth before tying the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh. A Sean McCarthy one-out single scored the tying runs.
The Crusaders appeared to seize momentum in the top of the ninth when Andy Daggett hit a one-out solo home run off reliever Tony Evanko, who had come in the game in the fifth inning and had held Capital scoreless four four innings while allowing his team to rally.
But JCU had an answer in the bottom of the ninth. After John Hastings singled with one out and stole second, Lewis hit his second home run of the season to right field to give the Blue Streaks a dramatic come-from-behind 7-6 win.
Lewis (4) and Hastings (2) accounted for six of the seven runs that crossed the plate for JCU.
Evanko improved to 3-0 on the year, as he allowed just the one run on two hits, and struck out two in 4.2 innings of work.
Game two was highlighted by a dominating effort by Fort, who worked all seven innings and faced just three batters above the minimum. He allowed just three hits and struck out three while walking one. He moves to 3-0 on the year with his first complete game victory of 2008.
Michael Krainz was the hitting star of game two, as he went 2-3 with four RBI. The big hit of the game was a bases-loaded three RBI double that broke open a 2-0 game in the fifth inning.
John Carroll is now 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the OAC, while Capital falls to 4-7 and 0-2.
