Using defense to fuel their offense, the John Carroll Blue Streaks were able to breakaway from the College at Brockport for a resounding 72-42 victory Monday night in a non-conference match-up at the DeCarlo Varsity Center.
The win marked John Carroll's third consecutive game in which it outscored the opposition by 25 or more points.

Brockport's only lead was after the first basket of the game by Brenlyn Campbell at the 19:09 mark. After that, it would be all Blue Streaks, as the home team rattled off the next 13 points, keyed by a pair of three-pointers by Whitney Hamilton and Rachael Price.
JCU led by as many as 17 points on two occasions in the first half before a mini-run by the Golden Eagles closed the gap to 41-28 by halftime.
All doubt was erased in the opening five minutes of the second half, as Hamilton and Laura Gruber combined to score the first eleven points of the period for John Carroll to build the lead to 52-28.
The margin never dipped below 22 points over the final 15 minutes of the contest.
John Carroll (3-2) won its third consecutive game after an 0-2 start thanks to a game-high 19 points from Lee Jennings, 13 from Hamilton and 10 from Price. The JCU defense forced 21 turnovers and limited Brockport to 17-64 (.266) from the field.
Brockport (2-1) was paced by 14 points from Molly Brewer, who also led all players with nine rebounds.
