Box Score

What began full of promise ended in chaos as John Carroll squandered an early second half lead in falling to Capital University, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon in Bexley, Ohio.

Capital had a 1-0 lead late in the first half when Scott McKinney scored his fifth goal of the season and his first goal since September 6 in the 41st minute.

With the score tied at 1-1 to start the second half, the Blue Streaks would need just 54 seconds to break the deadlock. Jeff Kosek redirected a Ryan Ricart cross to give John Carroll a 2-1 advantage.

The lead would be short lived as Capital's Josh Thaboune would respond in the 48th minute with a goal from five yards out to knot the score once again at 2-2.

Capital finally took the lead in the 73rd minute when Thaboune scored his second goal of the match to give the hosts a 3-2 advantage.

The Crusaders added an insurance goal in the 86th minute.

Mike Telzrow made five saves but allowed all four goals in his first collegiate start.
