JCU Volleyball Rolls Through Wilmington And Oberlin To Sweep Tri-Meet

John Carroll took Wilmington in four games and Oberlin in three to pull off a sweep of the tri-meet it hosted Saturday afternoon at the DeCarlo Varsity Center.

The Blue Streaks defeated the Wilmington Quakers in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by the scores of 25-20, 25-17, 20-25 and 25-13.

Meagan Gambone, in her first full match since the first week of September, led the JCU attack with 17 kills. Gina Imbrigiotta added a match-high 25 digs and four service aces as the Blue Streaks improved to 3-4 in the OAC.

After Wilmington got past Oberlin in the second match of the tri-meet (23-25, 25-14, 25-12, 20-25, 15-9), John Carroll and Oberlin squared off in the final match of the day. JCU cruised to a 25-10, 25-16, 25-22 win to improve to 17-10 on the year. the 17 victories are the most by a Blue Streak team since the 2001 edition captured 21 wins.

Kristen Kidd led the way with 10 kills, while #Meredith McDiarmid# had 25 assists to pace the offense. She finished the day with a total of 61 sets.
