In what was the final home meet and the final regular season meet of the 2007-08 season for the Blue Streaks, John Carroll got a boost from seniors Kim Kern, Kristen Kovach, Caitlin Griffin and Leah Wydro right off the bat.

Kern and Kovach were paired with freshman Katie Mathews and junior Heather Gilmour to win the 200 Medley Relay in a time of 1:56.20.

Already ahead 13-4 following the relay, two other seniors who were making their final career appearance in their home pool finished first and second in the 1000 Free. Griffin won in a time of 11:46.84, while Wydro lowered 27 seconds off her best time of the season at 12:40.95.

JCU would sweep the top two spots in both the 200 Free (won by Mathews in 2:06.31) and the 50 Free (won by Gilmour in 25.87) before Baldwin-Wallace recorded its first win in the 200 IM, as Ryan Reynolds edged JCU's #Heidi Benson. Despite the loss, JCU still led by a 63-27 score through five events.

Another senior, Kim Kern, would get into the act in the 100 Fly. She would win the race in 1:02.95, followed by Matthews in second at 1:03.43.

The Blue Streaks then picked up steam with a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 free. Gilmour won in 55.30, followed closely by Benson (57.58) and freshman Lindsay Pickut (1:00.97).

That race would be followed by yet another 1-2-3 sweep, this time in the 100 Back, as Kern won her second race of the day in 1:07.07, edging junior teammate Andrea Kovacs (1:07.19). Senior Megan Williamson completed the trifecta with a swim of 1:11.06.

Sophomore Liana Sved, who spent the first semester abroad, picked up a win in the 500 Free to close out the scoring for JCU. Her winning time was 5:41.20.

By defeating Baldwin-Wallace, John Carroll closes out the regular season with a 4-6 record in all dual meets, and 2-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
