Alex Bernot scored a pair of goals and the JCU defense did the rest to secure a 2-1 victory at Wilmington as John Carroll kept its hopes of an OAC regular season championship alive.

Bernot's first goal came within two minutes of the end of the first half. After receiving a pass from Louis Kastelic, Bernot beat the keep with a high shot to give the Blue Streaks a 1-0 lead.

Just a little over ten minutes into the second period, Bernot would hammer in his second shot from the top of the box off a feed from Scott McKinney.

Wilmington cut the deficit to 2-1 when Nate Eberle scored in the 75th minute, but it was one of the rare shots the Quakers squeezed off all night. The Blue Streaks finished the match with a 22-5 advantage in shots taken.

The victory improves the Blue Streaks' record to 8-7 overall and 5-2 in the OAC. Wilmington falls to 7-8-1, and 3-31 in league play.
